Name of Nominee:        Kristine Mason O'Connor, University of
Gloucestershire

Statement to support nomination:
        Kristine Mason O'Connor has served as an active member of the
SEDA Conference Committee for ten years; for two years she chaired the
Committee which organised four successful national conferences. She is
currently Head of the Centre for Learning and Teaching at the University
of Gloucestershire and in this capacity plays a key role in strategic
development related to teaching and learning. Her experience as Trustee
of a charity has provided invaluable opportunity to contribute to
organisational development.

Statement to support nomination:
                I have been on the Executive Committee for one term with
an informal brief to support the SEDA website and act as liaison with
learning technologists as required.  I would like to continue for
another term if this is useful.

Statement to support nomination:
Associated with SEDA for about 10 years as a Programme Leader on
recognised courses.
Last two years Chair of Teacher Accreditation Committee.
Recently working with colleagues in SEDA upon the development of the
revised PDF.

Name of Nominee:        John Sweet
Institution:            University of Wales, College of Medicine

Statement to support nomination:
        I should like to offer my nomination as I may be able to provide
a particular angle on things which hopefully could help contribute to
the evolving organisation of SEDA. I am located in Wales at a College of
Medicine and I am currently a lecturer at a School of Dentistry. In the
health care sector there to be relatively few educational development
enthusiasts. I see there is a tremendous challenge to search out and
apply important aspects of educational development. I have received a
SEDA small grant for a project nearing completion on the Loci of
Educational Development at my College and hope to report on this at the
SEDA meeting in November. I am lead editor of a book in press on
Effective Learning and Teaching in Medical, Dental and Veterinary
Education due out in November and wrote or co-wrote chapters on
curriculum, opportunities for educational development , applying
andragogical theory to practice and student support. I am currently
Secretary for the regional group ILT Wales and helped Chair and organise
a successful meeting in April. I am lead organiser of a questionnaire
which is to be sent in June to all ILT Wales members to canvas their
views on its organisation and function. I am on the final throws of
assembling my FSEDA portfolio and hope to have it ready by the end of
summer.
