First-time caller - not-so-long-time listener!
Not overjoyed with the words 'art mob' - tongue in cheek perhaps?

Wishing to engage with another discipline surely doesn't mean one is
necessarily seeking respectability? - Couldn't it be about a genuine desire
to expand one's horizons, scrutinise one's own assumptions and keep an open
mind?

Looks like the arts mob trying to garner some respectability.

The ICA definitely needs it. Nothing like the lively place I joined in
the 1960s.

Is this related to the BA Sci Bars? or different? If so - how?

Café Scientifique: Scientific Responsibility
The ICA are proud to host the first series of Café Scientifique in
London,
offering a chance to hear about and discuss the latest ideas in science
and
technology with leading scientists - you can offer your opinion, ask
questions or just listen. The guest speaker this evening will be
professor
Colin Blakemore, director of the Oxford Centre for Cognitive
Neuroscience,
and chairman of the British Association for the Advancement of Science.
Academic freedom is a cherished part of the engine of science. But can
scientists be trusted to exercise that freedom without regulation? Can
scientists as individuals or as a group ignore the political and moral
dimensions of their work? How should we balance the freedom and the
responsibilities of science? Daniel Glaser, ICA scientist in residence,
will be in the chair.
