Research Assistant
This post is available from 1 June 2002 for a fixed term of one
year, to work on a research project entitled ‘Scientific Publishing
and the Readership for Science in Early Nineteenth-Century
Britain’. You will be primarily responsible for the systematic
gathering of detailed data required for this pioneering study of
scientific publications, their authors and publishers. You should
have postgraduate training (ideally a PhD) in a relevant aspect of
nineteenth-century British history (such as History of Science or
the History of the Book), and at least moderate computer skills.
An ability to work collaboratively is required, but you should
also possess a capacity to work effectively and responsibly
without close supervision.
Salary: Research IA (£17,626--£19,681 p.a.)
