MANAGING PHOTOGRAPHIC COLLECTIONS

A study day at the National Gallery on managing photographs in libraries,
archives and museums

This study day is aimed at librarians, curators, archivists and other
professionals who have responsibility for managing collections of
photographs. The day will include sessions on the history of photography,
identification and preservation, cataloguing and intellectual control,
digitisation and copyright. There will also be a practical workshop.
Speakers will examine the theoretical ideals while considering practical
solutions for those working within time and budgetary constraints. 


Venue:  The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London.

Date and time:          Monday 14 October 2002, 10:00am - 4:30pm.

Cost, including lunch:  £100 ARLIS members            £70 retired
                                        £120 non ARLIS members        £50
students/unwaged
