Dear All,
We like to draw your attention to the session
"Magma chamber processes: chemical fingerprinting, crystallization kinetics and
textural constraints"
EGU - AGU Joint Assembly, Nice, France, 6 - 11 April, 2003
Convened by Jon Davidson, G. Bergantz, D.J.M. Burkhard, M. Toplis

A variety of processes may occur within magma chambers, for example, magma
mixing, assimilation of wall rocks, the infiltration of fluids, all followed by
fractionation processes. Factors that control these events provide an insight
into the dynamics of earth systems. While these processes did not necessarily
achieve equilibrium conditions they are often preserved as chemical or textural
fingerprints.
Here, we welcome contributions that provide evidence of such processes, based
on bulk and/or mineral chemical investigations, textural observations, such as
crystal size distribution, mineral association, intergrowth pattern, reaction
kinetics, mineral zoning, and others, possibly in relation to modeling.
(EUG- ESG = ) EGU - AGU - is a joint Assembly and will take place in Nice,
France, 6-11 April, 2003. It will be an excellent opportunity to meet colleges
from all over the world in the broad spectrum earth sciences.
The dead line for abstracts is 15 Janaury 2003
Details on abstract submission are in:

Hoping to welcome you, and looking forward to a successful meeting at Nice,
Jon Davidson, George Bergantz, Dorothee Burkhard
