Call for information
I am working as a Research Assistant at the Swiss Forum for Migration
Studies, SFM. The SFM is an independent research and documentation center
associated with the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. IOM Berne and
departments of the Swiss federal administration have asked us to prepare an
overview of innovative operations and projects that have been implemented
with the goal of 'preventing irregular migration'. We are also interested in
projects that are still in the experimental stage.
Could anyone provide us with information on projects that could be included
in our overview? In particular we are looking for information on projects
that have been realized to 'contain' migratory flows in the region of origin
after a humanitarian crisis. Information on successfully realised IGPs
(Income Generating Projects) or projects aiming at the local integration of
refugees in developing countries would be very welcome. In addition,
projects with the goal of livelihood improvement would be very interesting.
If evaluations exist, they would be of great interest to us.
