Internship opportunity with UNHCR's Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit
UNHCR's Evaluation and Policy Analysis Unit (EPAU) is pleased to announce an
unpaid internship opportunity, beginning in September 2002 and lasting for a
minimum of four months (longer periods would be welcome).
The intern will be expected to contribute to a number of different
evaluation and policy analysis projects. The intern will also have an
opportunity to undertake his or her own research project, the results of
which will be published in the working paper series 'New Issues in Refugee
Research'.
The successful applicant is likely to have a good first degree and a Masters
degree in the social sciences or economics, as well as proven research,
writing, organizational and communications skills. A demonstrated
understanding of refugee, migration, humanitarian or development issues
would be a definite advantage, as would first-hand experience in a
developing country. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
Full details of EPAU's work can be found on the UNHCR website: www.unhcr.ch.
Click on 'Research/evaluation', and then on 'Evaluation and policy
analysis'. The conditions of service for internships with UNHCR can also be
found on the website.
Applicants should send a CV, together with an introductory letter and a
sample of written work, to <[log in to unmask]>, with 'Internship opportunity'
written in the subject line.
