There are some strange shenanigans at the US National Archives (involving
amazing lapses in security) in Frank McDonald's Provenance (1980) which I
bought in a secondhand shop in Estonia while attending a conference on
....provenance studies. And I much regret leaving it on the plane on the way
home.

I don't recall an archivist in The Dumas Club, but there are a couple of
very dodgy conservators who wander around their workshops smoking happily.

Still, I don't think it does our professional reputation any good if we
are seen to be out-thought by eight-year-olds.
I blame Lucas for this fiasco.
On another note, is there an archivist in Arturo Perez-Reverte's Dumas
Club? It's been ages since I've read it, I can't remember if there is
or not.
