Centre for Bayesian Statistics in Health Economics
The University of Sheffield has announced the formation of the
Centre for Bayesian Statistics in Health Economics, known as
CHEBS. (Yes, the letters are in the wrong order, but it's much
easier to say than CBSHE!)
The Centre is a collaboration between the Department of
Probability and Statistics and the School of Health and Related
Research, with support from Merck and AstraZeneca. CHEBS will
be engaging in a range of activities, including a series of Focus
Fortnights to highlight topical areas of research. An announcement
of the first of these can be found at
http://www.shef.ac.uk/~st1ao/FFannounce1doc
In particular, the fortnight will feature a workshop on Evidence
Synthesis. CHEBS accords an open invitation to this workshop to
academic researchers in the area and to employees of our
industry supporters. (We regret that this invitation does not
include employees of other commercial companies.) So please
pass this invitation on to anyone you think might be interested and
eligible to attend. The workshop is free.
This announcement is being broadcast widely. Please accept our
apologies for cross-posting. We are building a list of email
addresses of interested persons to send future CHEBS
announcements to. If you would like to be placed on this list
please contact Jim Chilcott ([log in to unmask]).
Some further information about CHEBS is on our web site
http://www.shef.ac.uk/chebs/ and we will add details of all our
activities to this site as CHEBS develops.
