Great idea, Jonathan.
I am just about to start on an audit with a neonatologist on use of POCT
bilirubin results, but there are several other areas I'm anxious to start
on, generally related to compliance with training and quality.
The outcomes I'm looking for are partly to improve procedures in
clinical areas, and partly to get some hard evidence which will focus
managers' minds on specific problems in their directorates. Audit is one
of the components of Clinical Governance, which in turn is the best
magic phrase I've yet encountered to make managers listen attentively
to suggestions which they think might cost money!
Thanks for the info posted so far, Janet and Tracy.
