Are you aware of the "CMS" JISC report by Paul Browning & Mike
Lowndes - pdf available at
http://www.jisc.ac.uk/technwatch/reports/
You may also be interested in an article that was recommended to
me by Martin White of Intranetfocus.com and titled 'Centralised or
decentralised authoring?' April 2002
See http://www.steptwo.com.au/km/cms/index.html under the KM
Column link
I hope Martin won't mind my reiterating his advice at a recent
seminar - that we should be very clear about what we want from a
CMS and not to confuse this with a document management
system. Also to be careful about the long term viability of any
Company you may choose when purchasing CMS software.
Notes on implementation can be found at
http://www.intranetfocus.com/blog/archives/000016.html
and Martin has also produced a checklist to work through when
specifying a CMS
I also recently attended a seminar led by Mediasurface (A CMS
product and also the name of the Company) - I'm writing up some
brief notes and will send you a copy when they are ready.
