Shared question banks in electrical and electronic engineering - A Call for
Participation
seeking paid question consultants in
power electronics, applied electromagnetics, programming for engineers.
control engineering, maths for engineers, telecommunications, semiconductor
physics, data communications, computational tools

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Assessment Network (e3an) is a
national project working to develop test banks of peer-reviewed questions
for use in UK higher education.

In the early stages of the project we identified and refined question
production methods, and are now making available our initial question bank
of resources for free download from our project web site
http://www.e3an.ac.uk/ The test bank currently covers: analogue
electronics, digital electronics and microprocessors, circuit theory,
signal processing.

We are currently recruiting question author consultants who will join our
theme teams and be paid to generate and contribute questions sets to the
test bank. A one-off payment of £1000 is available to successful
consultant authors who participate in a briefing, submit an acceptable set
of 50 questions and participate in the peer-review process. Additional
cash will also be available for theme team leaders.

We are looking for engineers willing and able to participate in question
theme teams in the following areas:
power electronics, applied electromagnetics, programming for engineers.
control engineering, maths for engineers, telecommunications, semiconductor
physics, data communications, computational tools

If you believe there is a missing area in which you would like to see a
team develop please also respond to this call, indicating your suggestions.

Timescales:
* identify team members during May 2002,
* brief new team members in late May and early June.
* We anticipate that team members will work on their question sets over the
Summer vacation period so that they can review the questions in early
September.
Precise timings for authoring will be negotiated within teams, although our
project deadline for satisfactory completion of this work is Friday
September 6th.

If you would like to participate please complete the form below. Those who
have already attended one of our launch meetings need only indicate that
they are still willing to participate.

e3an is a collaborative project funded by the Higher Education Funding
Council for England and the Department for Higher and Further Education,
Training and Employment under the Fund for the Development of Teaching and
Learning. The project is led by the University of Southampton in
conjunction with Bournemouth University, The University of Portsmouth and
Southampton Institute.

Please complete the form below by adding personal information and deleting
information which does not apply to you
