The JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) funded Technology and
Standards Watch Service, http://www.jisc.ac.uk/techwatch/ , commissions
reports on technologies that might be expected to have substantial impact
on UK Higher and Further Education in a few years' time.
Authors are paid 1,500 pounds for a report of c. 4,000 words. Expressions of
interest are currently invited for reports in the following areas:

- Embedded Systems
- Flexible Displays
- Image Recognition
- Intelligent Agent technologies
- Quantum Computing
- Security in Mobile Communications

- Technologies to support E-commerce
- Technologies to support Virtual Laboratories
- Technologies to support Virtual Environments for Learners
- Ubiquitous Computing
- Voice Portals
- Wearable Devices
- Web Services technologies
- Wireless, mobile communications technologies
Details of how to submit an expression of interest, report requirements,
acceptance procedures, and payment are available on the web site.
Expressions of interests for reports on topics not in the list above are
also welcome and are subject to the same conditions.
