Hi all,
Noosa is very attractive small coastal destination for day-trippers and
holiday makers 200 km north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Most visitors use private car to access the town and peak season congestion
(localised) has the potential to detract from its appeal as a tourist
destination in the future.
The local government is keen to learn from the experience of others around
the world who may have successfully tackled similar problems. They are
particularly interested in the innovative use of travel demand management
measures; ITS; and transit to reduce the pressures caused by car use
without 'scaring' away vistors.
Can anyone point to relevant locations which may be worthy of study?
Thanks
Luis
