Conversation: request from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
Subject: request from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
Dear Sir or Madam,
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC is
currently
undertaking research for a 2004 exhibition titled "Nazi Racial Science."
As such, I am attempting to locate an artifact, the "glass" or
"transparent" man, manufactured by the Deutsche Hygiene Museum in
Dresden,
beginning in the 1930s. I have attached a photograph of the object
below.
I would be most grateful, if you have any information or where I might
find
an example of this glass man. The DHM produced over 100 of them, but I
have only been able to locate three, none of which are available for
exhibition.
Please let me know if you need any further information to assist with
this
request.
Thank you,
Alexa D. Potter
