Dear Colleague
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the deadline for
abstract submission to the
forthcoming Euresco Conference "The Science of Aphasia" , has been extended
to the 26th March 2002.
The conference is focused on the contribution of neuroimaging to the
understanding of the biological
foundations of language.
Please also notice that grants are available for applicants from outside
Europe as well.
The grants will cover accomodation, meals and registration.
For registration and abstract submission visit the following website

Summary
The third edition of the "Science of Aphasia" Euresco Conference is
dedicated to assessing the contribution of functional neuroimaging in
describing the biological foundations of language, to debate its
achievements and its current limitations, and to shed light on possible
future developments, both at a theoretical and at a practical level.
Specialists and younger investigators in the fields of neuroimaging and
cognitive modelling of language will interact and discuss on how their
findings can mutually inform their disciplines. There will be discussions
on methodological and theoretical issues as well as on practical questions
like: does the functional modularity of language correspond to an
anatomical modularity of the linguistic processing? Can neuroimaging be
used to prevent aphasic sequelae in neurosurgical patients or to plan
tailored rehabilitation in aphasia?
Together with invited lectures, large space is dedicated to the
presentation of new research by younger investigators during oral and
poster sessions.
Abstracts should be submitted together with the application form. A copy of
each abstract should also be sent directly to the Conference Chair, Eraldo
Paulesu at [log in to unmask] by 26th March 2002.
