In science communication , thsi problem shoudl be resolved by the BA
and
ASE . They should offer liability cover to their members (they will be

Why should the BA do this? It isn't as insurance company, or a trade
union.
It does make sense for them to offer advice, and to point people at
likely suppliers - here the Royal Society could chip in under the guise
of COPUS - but expecting them to run such a scheme seems to me to be
well beyond their terms of reference.
