Is there a real threat of an asteroid colliding with the earth? Should we
believe the visions of asteroid Armageddon the science fiction films would
have us believe?
In 2000 the UK government commissioned a Task Force to investigate the
hazards represented by Near Earth Objects. Is there anything we can do to
stop meteorites colliding with the Earth? What scale of devastation could
an impact cause? What is being done to reduce these hazards? Are we all
doomed or should we be looking for a real life Bruce Willis to save the day?
Join Dr Harry Atkinson, Chairman of the Government Task Force and Natural
History Museum meteorite scientist, Dr Matthew Genge for an informal
discussion on the threat of Near Earth Objects over a drink at the next
