A friend is writing an article on Archilbald McLeish's much quoted, misused
and misunderstood contention in his Ars Poetica that 'A poem should not mean
/ but be.' I have a feeling that I've seen not one but many parodies or
twists of these words but can't remember where. I'm I mistaken? Can anyone
fill me in here?
