In case you're wondering what's been happening since the last
sighting of Rebel Inc... wonder no more... we've been gearing up
(so to speak) for the opening in Edinburgh of Scotland's first
Dutch-style cannabis coffeeshop. Read on ...

---------------------------------------------------------
REBEL INC NEWSLETTER #1 - MAY DAY GREETINGS TO ONE & ALL
---------------------------------------------------------

		>> This Ain't Fiction <<

May Day Greetings to rebels everywhere. It was ten years ago
this week (May 4th, 1992) that Rebel Inc magazine was first
launched at an event in James Thins bookstore in Edinburgh.

It was an event that featured readings, from, among others,
writer Irvine Welsh (in what was his first public appearance
- over a year before Trainspotting was published).

Five groundbreaking Rebel Inc magazines later; plus over a
hundred live Rebel Inc events all over the world; over
sixty Rebel Inc book titles: we are now ready to unveil the
third and most ambitious phase of the Rebel Inc project...

------------------------------------------------------------
Phase One: Rebel Inc Magazine 1992-1995
Phase Two: Rebel Inc Books 1996-2001
------------------------------------------------------------

	>> Rebel Inc Cannabis Coffeeshop <<

This year, in the heart of historic Edinburgh, capital city
of Scotland, we're gonna be opening the doors to our all-new
Dutch-style cannabis coffeeshop. This revolutionary new
cultural café intends to challenge the current cannabis laws
and provide a safe, stimulating and pleasant environment for
lovers of freedom to gather, chat, plot and plan, listen to
nice sounds, and, of course, smoke your favourite herb.

The café will be the public front for the all-new
Rebel Inc magazine (more details in the next newsletter)
as well as the forthcoming Rebel Inc Books - a brand new
and completely independent publishing house which has
f*ck all to do with Canongate Books...

We're not going to say too much here but full details, Q&As,
plus all the press, cuttings, etc, are now online at our
brand spanky new website at www.rebelinccoffeeshop.com

-----------------------------------------------------------
NB The opening date and location of the coffeeshop will
be revealed EXCLUSIVELY through the Rebel Inc Newsletter
so if ya ain't subscribed yet then click along to the
website above ...
-----------------------------------------------------------

		>> Word Is Virus - Spread It <<

On the first day of each month this newsletter will be
keeping y’all bang up to date with developments with the
coffeeshop, book publishing, and revamped magazine
projects, plus news on the campaigning front ...

If there's anyone else in your Outlook or Netscape
address book who may be interested in the end of the
war against drugs ... celebrating the legalisation of
cannabis ... reading quality literature ... opposing
miscarriages of justice, war, globalisation, and the
surveillance society ... then please forward this email
on to them ... thanks.

----------------------------------------------------------
Your next Newsletter will arrive on June 1st, 2002
----------------------------------------------------------

If all this sounds a bit too seditious, well dodgy,
or completely uninteresting, then send a blank email,
with UNSUBSCRIBE in the BODY and we'll promise
never ever to darken your Inbox again.

In which case why not make friends with Jesus instead
and dress him up real nice at www.jesusdressup.com

From all at Rebel Inc HQ:
Peace, Love, and, as always, FTM
