I was willing to read trustingly the Queensland story of Chris Jones until I
got to the phrase I have lifted and put in the subject box.
Later stars are mentioned by Jones. Now I have been to Brisbane more than
once and not only can I vouch for the stars that shine over it, but am
confident that mooonlessness is no more pronounced in Brisbane than anywhere
else in benighted Australia. Or is it the claim that when the moon is not
visible in the night sky then the night sky is blacker there than it is
elsewhere. I was told by a Danish exchange student that her time in
Australia was remarkable partly because of the immense number of stars in
the night sky here.
Only last night a full moon shone over Melbourne, seen by others beside me,
with a clearly discernible rabbit outlined in its disc.
