The cave drawings were in a cave discovered near the Pont d'Arc (a natural
bridge over the Ardèche), about 6 kilometers from my inamorata's place
there. They are 30,000 years old, Aurignacian, stunningly beautiful animal
drawings on the walls, worth a look, they predate Lascaux & Altamira, I
believe. Signs of bear worship, too. There's a museum, but they are engaged
in remodelling another local cave to present an exact simulacrum of the
original, (which cannot be accessed for obvious reasons), & they hope it's
going to be a really big tourist attraction. We hope not too big, or we
