Nor do I. But then I cannot 'understand' anyone who believes enough in any
'god' to go & kill himself while killing lots of others. Which is only to
say I'm a secular guy I guess.
The news in Canada has been running the story for days now, & last night as
the fires approached northern Sydney suburbs I recognized places where
friends live, or what's very nearby. And I hear they are close to the
Hunter Valley too. You've said no one has been killed yet, so we can only
all hope that will remain true. Originally it seems that the fires were
mostly to the south of Sydney, but now I'm wondering if they have moved
into the Hawkesbury River area, where a good friend lives...
I have been there some months after a fire & the trees are amazing! But
this seems too huge, too much. So I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's
not going to get any worse...
