I want Dave on the line. When he's himself he's very astute. I
haven't tried to defeat Dave, quite to the contrary, I've tried to
listen and learn from him.
Aside from the bug he seems to have about certain things American,
when he comes out of his real interests he provides, gratis,
knowledge, insights, authenticities I don't find with anyone else.
Even his last post against the Prez: I said nothing, let it pass. So
what if he can't get it? His plusses far outweigh his question
marks. He shouldn't blame me if he wants to cease his involvment on
these lists; I'm all for him, even with the difficulties of dealing
with his irascability. I never argue with talent.
This isn't the kind of spirit that will defeat al Qaeda.
