Dear Rosan and John
I did attend the conference with somewhat high expectations. The "Title"
or "Theme" attracted me. I spoke to a lot of people and to me a rather
common experience seemed to be that people really did feel that the
conference was a (if not a first, but) big step forward in the search of
a "common ground". I was not the only one to recognize a difference from
the La Cluzac conference. Now, most participants had a much more open
stance to the idea of a broad and general "common ground" within design
research. Maybe it was "only" a title, but I believe it had a major
impact on the way the conference unfolded. And to me it was an impact
that made me hopeful about the future of design research.
Best wishes
