Postdoctoral position is available at Brooklyn College of the City
University of New York to study the molecular dynamics of fused salts. The
project will center on the simulation of recently discovered salts that are
molten at room temperature, and have attracted considerable experimental
interest in their properties. Of particular interest are their solvation
properties, which appear comparable to relatively nonpolar organic molecular
liquids. These properties are extremely poorly understood from a
theoretical standpoint, and the project represents an exciting exploration
of a very new field. A synopsis of the project is available at the web site
below.
Candidates with a strong background in molecular dynamics or Monte Carlo
simulations are preferred, but prior experience with salt systems is not
necessary. Salary is competitive, and comes with a solid benefits package.
As part of the City University of New York system, Brooklyn College offers
excellent opportunities to form contacts with other CUNY campuses and with
academic and industrial organizations throughout the tri-state area.
Applicants should send a curriculum vita and arrange to have three letters
of recommendation sent to Prof. Kobrak the address below.
