The Wethered family were relatives by marriage of Handel Cossham. In 1848 he
married Elizabeth Wethered of Little Marlow and soon afterwards went into
business in partnership with her father, William, and brothers Joseph, Henry
and Edwin to develop what eventually became Parkfield colliery.
A nephew, Handel Cossham Wethered, later became High Court Judge, whilst
another member of the family was a senior Poor Law Inspector.
I don't know about any connection with this mill, or with Oliver Wethered of
Geevor Mine, Cornwall, but wonder whether anyone knows whether the family
had any connection with Wethered's brewery of Marlow, Bucks.
