To look up Mining Journal, Mining Magazine, etc., I have to travel to London
and use the British Library or IMM. To get a good days research in means a
full price railway ticket with Underground which costs about £35. I dread to
think how many years microfilming I could have subsidised with my rail
fares! With the amount of research that I still do, I would be more than
willing to spend the price of a few railway tickets on something that would
allow me internet access or loan of microfilms thru' the interlibrary
service.

Some time ago I made the suggestion for a Mining Journal microfilm library -
each member contributing one year on film (costing, at the time, £35 -
current price would no doubt be greater) - but there was no interest.
Someone might like to take up the idea.
