1. AUXILIARY MIDWIFE TRAINING PROGRAMME
For the first time in years, institutional training programmes for females
will take place in the Eastern Region of Afghanistan, including the training
of district auxiliary midwifes. The planning for the auxiliary midwife
training programme already started in 1999, however, under Taliban rule, the
training was postponed repeatedly. The events of September 11th again caused
delays. Now with the end of Taliban rule, HealthNet international takes the
opportunity to improve the quality of female staff through institutional
medical education. Therefore, the two-years auxiliary midwife training
programme has been developed and is due to start in September 2002. The
programme is especially designed for the training of women from rural areas.
2. PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Project Co-ordinator will be employed to closely monitor and evaluate
the Auxiliary Midwife Training Programme. She will also participate in the
process of nation-wide curriculum development for midwife training.
Furthermore the Project co-ordinator will be responsible for all logistic
and administrative procedures, and the preparation of reports for the local
authorities, HealthNet International internal reports and donor reports.
3. PROFILE·
Degree in midwifery· At least six years of relevant working experience of
which two are in developing countries· Experience in supervising· Experience
in giving training· Good communication skills· Good reporting skills·
Flexible and cultural sensitive· Fluent in written and spoken English·
Capable of working independent as well as in a team
