This course is for those faced with examining how one response, or output,
depends on other "explanatory" variables. Consideration will be given to
descriptive methods, in handling such data.
The course consists of lectures, interactive demonstrations and practical
sessions. Practicals may use SPSS, MINITAB or Genstat; other packages will
be demonstrated.
Course content:
Descriptive methods of examining relationships in graphs and tables
Simple multivariate methods to examine relationships
Use and misuse of correlations
Simple linear regression
Multiple regression models, selection of variables
Regression models involving groups of data
Model checking
Complications, including non-normal data
