invite you to attend the Fourteenth Annual David L. Cowen Lecture
in the History of Pharmacy. This year's speaker is Dr. William
Helfand-historian, pharmacist, and chemical engineer-who will be
speaking on "How I Learned about History from Pharmacy
Cartoons." The lecture will be held on Wednesday, November
13, 2002 at 4:30 p.m. in Room 111 of the Science and Engineering
Resource Center (SERC) on Rutgers Busch Campus, Piscataway,
New Jersey 08854-8020.
Dr. Helfand has received the Edward Kremers Award and the
Urdang Medal from the American Institute of the History of
Pharmacy, the Pepys Medal from the Ephemera Society (London),
and the Schelenz Plaquette from the European Society for the
History of Pharmacy. He is author of The Picture of Health
and Quack, Quack, Quack and co-author of Phamacy: An
Illustrated History.
