British Society for the History of Science: Annual Conference 2003
at College of York St John, York
on 17-19 July 2003
This meeting marks the resumption of the Society's Annual Conference to
which all are cordially invited.
Papers are invited in all areas of the history of science, technology and
medicine. Suggestions for themed sessions are particularly welcome.
Postgraduates are especially encouraged to put papers forward for a
postgraduate workshop. BSHS subsidies are available for all registered
students. The meeting will also include the President's Address and EGM.
The College of York St John is a comfortable modernised conference centre
in a beautiful setting opposite the Minster. The conference will offer a
number of social events and visits. These are expected to include the
National Railway Museum, the Minster Library, and a boat trip along the
river. Other attractions include the recently renovated Jorvik experience
(the basis for a session on museums?), the Castle Museum, Betty's Tea Room,
the Treasurer's House, the National Centre for Early Music, nightly Ghost
Walks, and the historic city itself.
Abstracts of papers (max 250 words) should be sent before 1 December 2002
