I've been contacted by a Local Authority Borough looking to purchase 'front-end software with a proven track record' (to satisfy HLF).
The details I've been given are:
The Borough has MAPINFO - GIS software - to map a specific region of the Borough
MAPEXTREME - to link the GIS data to a database
ACCESS - the database
In addition a local community group are likely to contribute to the project, they use COMMANET.
The front-end software will need to unite each of the above to create an entry point for the public via the Internet - accessed at home and 'on site'.
Can anybody recommend suitable software?
What pitfalls, tips, etc. should this Local Authority be aware of?
