Research Associate (Documentation Manager)
Limit of tenure: 18 months*
Salary range £17,626 - £26,491 pa, Pensionable
The Fitzwilliam Museum is seeking to appoint an art historian,
archaeologist or other subject specialist, with at least five years’ museum
experience of documentation projects at the level of managing terminology
and recording procedures, to guide the documentation and curatorial staff
of five departments who are building a database of collections information
and images. A thorough working knowledge of SPECTRUM and its application to
a wide range of object types is essential. Familiarity with ADLIB, a
commitment to working co-operatively and a research interest in
iconographical terminology, the development of thesauri or innovative
approaches to access to collections information, would be an advantage.
