The Library and Information Research Group is offering its research methods course for library and information professionals. The course consists of of four 1 day workshops which will take place in London from October 2002 until January 2003. The workshops are interactive and are designed to help participants learn by doing. The course is aimed at those who need to research user needs, to assess the quality of their services, undertake systematic evaluation, or to gather evidence to support decision making.
> The maximum number of participants is restricted to 20 to allow maximum interaction. Early registration is therefore recommended.

The four workshops are:
* Strategic Issues in Research Planning - 21st. October 2002
* Designing a good questionnaire survey - 18th. November 2002
* Doing research with people - interviews and group work - 16th. December 2002
* Creative Data Analysis - 13th. January 2003
David Haynes of CILIP Consultancy Services and David Streatfield of Information Management Associates will jointly deliver the course. Both course tutors have extensive experience of library and information research.
