We had a visit to our Trust last November. The Library prepared a short
paper outlining the services for the pre-visit pack. But I am unsure
whether they actually looked at it. I got to meet two of them at the same
half hour slot as the R&D Chair, the R&D Manager and the Clinical Guidelines
Database Co-ordinator (part of the Library team). One of the visitors was
particularly interested in the Guidelines database, but not in the rest of
the library services, so I came out feeling a bit dissatisfied. I consider
that the whole access to information through our web page to be extremely
valuable for all Trust staff as they can use it from computers throughout
the organization. They had not looked at the web page, and I suspect they
never did. Although we got a mention in the report, it only really said
that staff had good access to library facilities - which could mean
anything. Even the Database got hardly an acknowledgement in the final
report.
It appears that most people responding to this subject today have been
similarly frustrated.
