The BUSINESS INFORMATION NORTHERN NETWORK (BINN)
introduces its latest event, run by the Manchester Business School
and Intelligent Resources:
MAKING THE BEST OF IT: CAREER DEVELOPMENT IN A
RECESSION
Information Professionals have been in demand in the glut times,
but with a difficult economic climate you may have seen colleagues
made redundant, between jobs or worrying about future threats.
We will look at this from three perspectives:
- practical steps in career planning, a comment on recruitment
supply and demand
- tips on self-promotion, and
- an open floor discussion when we hope people will share positive
and negative experiences
SPEAKERS:
Julia Hordle
Recruitment Specialist.
Julia is a director of Intelligent Resources. She will comment on
the conditions of a supply rather than a demand-led jobs market,
and provide some perspectives on 'value' - in posts and in
individuals.
With contributions from:
Jane Mann
Career Management Counsellor. Nominated by the CIPD.
Jane spent many years as an HR specialist in a variety of
corporate institutions before founding Maple Consulting. Today
Jane advises corporates on career management and outplacement,
and also works with individuals from all professions and of all ages.
