List readers,
I've responded to Louise's report -- another UK colleague had just this morning
reported something similar but seemingly limited to an off-campus proxy server
-- with a series of diagnostic questions.
Once we know the nature of the problem I'll let readers of the list know what
we have found. Reports are helpful in diagnosis especially if you see the
problem in some cases but not others (e.g., some workstations but not others;
some journals but not others).
You are welcome to contact me if you are seeing this same problem and would like
the diagnosis steps. (Today is a national holiday here in the US, so I'll
work on this today to see what we can learn.)
