I absolutely agree that no-cancellation clauses are the very worst thing
to emerge from the deals negotiated in recent years. However in relation
to one of the major deals, we have been begged to find a way of cancelling
three titles in particular, since there was allegedly no longer any
research interest in them. However a recent check of usage statistics
revealed each of these titles in our top ten of downloaded full text
articles over the last year.
Perhaps this is a case of "lies, damned lies and usage statistics!"
