Applications are invited for the post of research officer to join a UCD/TCD
team on a new and exciting research programme to establish and analyse the
values, beliefs and behaviour of the Irish population in relation to the
environment. This programme is supported by the Environmental Protection
Agency's Environmental RTDI Programme and funded by the Irish Government
under the National Development Plan 2000-2006.
Candidates should have a PhD in sociology or a related social science,
strong quantitative research skills and experience and proficiency in
handling and analysing large comparative data sets. Candidates with a
Masters Degree and considerable experience in quantitative research may be
considered. The post will also require competency in web site design and
management, the ability to liaise with research centres internationally and
good interpersonal and communication skills.
The appointment will be made on a contract of two years' duration
commencing in March 2002. The salary will be in the region of €38,000
depending on experience and qualifications.
