A NEW WORK ETHIC??
with Sharon Langford Sunday May 5 (1000 - 1700)
Do you stop to question what your working life is really about and what you
really want to do? Perhaps you¹ve found the 'work you were born to¹, but
would like to understand how you got there and how you can help others in
their journey.
It may be nice to think that in working life there is a reasonable
degree of harmony between personal and organisational goals. We may gain
self esteem by feeling involved in the organisation or by challenging and
helping to change it. The problem is that it may feel too risky to ask
ourselves ³Is this the work I really want to do?²
Equally, in the role of trainer we may get the same feelings and
questions when working with client groups both in prospect, and as it
happens. Less-than-happy participants can disrupt, bully and distract,
subversively or otherwise, from the achievement of both personal and
organisational goals and leave the Oleader¹ feeling frustrated and
unfulfilled. Both personal and organisational goals suffer in their several
respects.
This workshop will explore the way Onegative conditioning¹ can affect
the sense of fulfilment and achievement for you and the groups and
individuals you work with. It will introduce the concept of the Onew work
ethic¹ where success is created from the inside out, and based on an
old-fashioned concept: goodness.
Sharon Langford is a consultant, coach and trainer working with Industrial
Society Learning & Development. She works with a wide range of groups
across public, private and not-for-profit sectors delivering mainly Osoft¹
skills, coaching and trainer development workshops.

BUILDING YOUR INNER TEAM Sunday
July 7 (1000 - 1700)
with Eva Ross
and Chris White
Teamwork occurs in all sorts of settings and relationships - and is a part
of our life that is not usually given enough attention!
This will be a day to do something new - to explore different parts of
ourselves through a variety of stimulating exercises - to discover the roles
we play in teams, the ones that we enjoy, the ones that we would like to
develop and the ones we are totally bored with, and desperately need to
jettison.
The day will also provide an opportunity to audit and 'springclean' our
inner team selves in order to discover our strengths (perhaps as yet
unknown), to make sure that these are then not sabotaged by our weaknesses,
and to explore those parts of our team selves that are crying out for a bit
of fresh air, fun and frolics.
Eva is a counsellor/psychotherapist with many years of experience in
lecturing, group work, teaching and training.
Chris is a Manager in a Multidisciplinary team of Mental Health workers in
Oxfordshire. He too has many years of experience in groupwork, training and
social work.
