But these cards are currently attracting a lot of negative PR, because
they are seen to be softening up youngsters to the concept of having an
ID card that tracks their every movement. There is also disquiet that
they are apparently being positioned as "compulsory" to the students,
when they may well be voluntary, and there's a suspicion that this
attitude is because of the colleges getting a fee-per-student from
Capita.
