Congratulations Paul - I think that nappy changing must be one of the most
complex responsive processes around!
I've not had any new additions to the family recently, but likewise have
little spare capacity. I do however think that the local learning set / CG
angle is of great interest and I'd like to do the same down here.
Will look into the OU contact and see how the course, or aspects of it,
might fit in with our plans. Happy to contribute to a wider network if there
is the interest. Might Tim W. be interested in RCGP coordination?
Jim

Hi Jim,
The person to contact about this OU course is Jacqueline Eisenstadt (tel
01908 653 528). I shall copy this e-mail to her and to Ray Ison (Prof of
Systems who devised thwe course). I have seen the course materials and
believe that it could be the basis of a really relevant leadership course
for PCT staff. I also have very high respect for Ray Ison and it would be
great to get his creative mind into our issues about PCT development. It is
certainly my hope that I can get something going on this theme in my neck
of the woods, perhaps through the Teaching PCT initiative. I think that
Ray's course will need some primary care contextualising and if I can get
something going I am thinking of complementing it with a local learning set
and perhaps targetting it at clinical governance in the first instance. If
other parts of the country are interested we would do well to coordinate
and evaluate the whole initiative - anyone interested in taking a lead? I
don't mind doing a bit but haven't got much spare capacity.
Paul
p.s. apologies for not calling you first Jacqueline before I gave your
number out. I've just had my first baby and nappies are being prioritised
over niceties at the moment! This relates to your T306 course that I think
has great potential for adaptation to primary care trusts. I mentioned
this in an e-mail to this list of people interested in complexity from
throughout the UK primary care.
