I have labourously spent several days adding pdf bookmarks to the released
version of the draft CD. This makes it much easier to navigate for reading
the document online. For reasons that I do not fully understand the
technology used to produce the pdf does not automatically generate "live"
contents pages nor related bookmarks. Since I have a copy of acrobat as well
as the reader I have added the bookmarks by hand. I have produced bookmarks
down to level 3 (4.3.5) of the headings, except I have not added marks for
any of the intrinsic function specs. There were just too many of them.
In case some of you might be interested in having a copyof this .pdf version
of the draft CD with bookmarks, I have put it on my website
http://www.pcweb.liv.ac.uk/jls/007_CD_bmk.pdf
Given that producing this manually took best part of eight hours of tedious
manual work in acrobat I would hope some mechanism for automating the process
could be found in future. Anyway for the time being I hope this version might
be useful to some of you.
