Hello,
I am trying to to convince people to use BLAS and LAPACK libraries
instead of local routines, in a multi-platforms environment (personnally
I'm convinced, but the point of view of other heavy users would be
useful :-))
When using vendor supplied versions of BLAS/LAPACK on various platforms,
did you notice significant, if any, deviations from the reference
implementations, in terms of interfaces, results, etc... ? Or asked
differently, are these implementations fully consistent between the
different vendors ?
On machines without a vendor version (e.g. Linux):
-Does the auto-tuned BLAS, ATLAS, reach a good perfomance level compared
to the simple compilation of the reference implementation ?
-To which extent do the LAPACK performances depend on the BLAS
optimisation ?
best regards,
Pierre
