Just done an interview for The Verb tomorrow night - 10 o clock. How nice
I thought armed with lots of lovelies in wait of a Bob Cobbing celebration
on the Beeb. Well no. Questions: Was he really fierce? Didn't he start
the poetry wars in 1970's and is it true he wouldn't let anyone else have a
look in at Writer's Forum - at this point I pointed out that Writers Forum
was Bob's own fooking press and he could what the hell he liked (well I said
it as nice as I could between gritted teeth). I think Ian meant London
Consortium but who gives a flying-f I wasn't going to enlighten him. What
did he want me to say - that he was a cantankerous old generalissimo. I came
away upset and furious. Ignored when your alive and fookin abused when your
dead. Doesn't get much better than this which is pretty bad - I'm deeply
depressed and upset.
Don't think Ian meant it like that but so many negative questions. Oh well
I did my best under growing frustration - they'll probably edit it down to 2
minutes - it wasn't even mentioned as an item in the introduction.
I send my fee to Greenpeace. At least he'll get something from the buggers.
