Dear all
This e-mail is aimed at DACS licence holders.
DACS will be surveying subscribers to the slide collection licensing
scheme (past & present). They want to collect information on the
strengths & weaknesses of the scheme and ways in which it might be
effectively developed. I think we all know many of the main issues-
exclusions to licence, digitisation, payback to artists, data return
forms, personal collections of slides by individual lecturers, changes
to licence form without prior consultation etc. and would welcome an
open meeting between DACS & subscribers.
Sandy Norman & Vivienne Stiemens (Arlis representative on DACS steering
group) have agreed to provide input on the content of the survey. I've
just contacted Sandy Norman and she wants suggestions regarding the
format and structure of the survey, proposals of headings and any
specific questions that should be included. Her deadline is 22nd Feb.
If you have your own thoughts on this please get in touch - probably
best to e-mail me and I'll pass on to Sandy & Vivienne.
Thanks
Steph Silvester
Hon. Secretary ARLIS/UK & Ireland & ARLIS representative on Library
Association Copyright Alliance.
