Dear all,
I am a PHD student working on domestication of Prunus avium (sweet and wild
cherry trees). I used AFLP and microsatellite markers to study genetic
diversity in wild and cultivated groups of this species. The comparison of
the genetic diversity in both groups allowed us to make some hypothesis
about domestication of sweet cherry.
I would like to compare my results with archaeological data.
Does somebody know whether some studies are currently being made on this
species ?
Is it possible to identify wild cherry stones among cultivated cherry
stones in archeological excavations ? This information would be very
helpful to determine the domestication date.
I would greatly appreciate if people having any kind of information about
that could contact me.
Thank you very much
Sincerely
Muriel Tavaud
