Dear subscribers to this mailing list,
At the initiative of the EuroScience working group "Future of young
scientists", representatives of the three principal associations of
Young Scientists in Europe (MCFA, Eurodoc, Pi-net) got together in
order to form a new, targeted Joint Working Group on Young
Scientists. One of the goals of this new working group was to set up
a survey among young scientists in Europe regarding their views on a
couple of key questions related to their PhD and post-doctoral
training and their career prospects in a changing European labour
market.
With this letter we want to invite you to take part in this survey.
The survey homepage is
http://www.mariecurie.org/surveys/YS_survey/
and the survey form can be accessed at
http://www.mariecurie.org/cgi-bin/survey.cgi
First results of the survey will be presented at the conference "New
Science and Technology based Professions in Europe" that is organized
by EuroScience and will take place in Bischenberg, France, November
6-9, 2002. Based on the results of the survey, the Joint Working
Group will formulate concrete recommendations to policy makers and
other stakeholders.
If you would like to make further comments on the survey or the
topics treated in the survey, please post these in the public
discussion forum at http://www.mariecurie.org/forum .
Sincerely,
The Young Scientists working group
