The National Cancer Centre of Singapore (NCC) is a comprehensive cancer
centre dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cancer. NCC is strongly
committed to research, education and training. It actively fosters and
supports cancer research as part of the development of the biomedical
industry in Singapore.
We are seeking to recruit a statistician primarily to provide statistical
support for laboratory based research conducted in the NCC Research
Divisions. This will include assisting scientists with the statistical
aspects of their research work as well as providing occasional teaching and
training. The statistician will also be encouraged to initiate and engage
in statistical methodology research for applications related to laboratory
based work. This will be done in collaboration with research scientists and
other statisticians currently employed in NCC. The position will be for an
initial period of 2 years.
The candidate should have a PhD in statistical genetics or biostatistics
with applications to laboratory based research. Statistics MSc holders with
experience in providing statistical support for laboratory based research
work will also be considered. The candidate should have excellent
communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to explain
statistical issues to non-statisticians. He or she should also have an
interest in statistical methodology research.
